Sonic Attack

© Michael Moorcock

In case of Sonic Attack on your district, follow these rules.....

If you are making love it is imperative to bring all bodies to orgasm
simultaneously
Do not waste time blocking your ears.
Do not waste time seeking a soundproof shelter.
Try to get as far away from the sonic source as possible,
but do not panic.....

Use your wheels. It is what they are for.
Small babies may be placed inside the special cocoons,
which should be left if possible, in a shelter.
Do not attempt to use your own limbs.
If no wheels are available, metal, not organic, limbs
should be employed whenever practical.....

Remember, in the case of Sonic Attack, Survival does mean every man for himself.
Statistically more people survive if they think only of themselves.
Do not attempt to rescue friends, relatives, or loved ones.
You have only a few seconds to escape.
Use those seconds sensibly or you will inevitably die.
Do not panic.
Think only of yourselves....

These are the first signs of Sonic Attack:
You will notice small objects, such as ornaments, oscillating.
You will notice a vibration in your vertebrae.
You will hear a distant hissing in your ears.
You will feel dizzy.
You will feel the need to vomit.
There will be bleeding from orifices.
There will be an ache in the pelvic region.
You may be subject to fits of hysterical shouting, or even laughter.

These are all signs of imminent Sonic destruction.
Your only real protection is flight.
If you are less than ten years old, then remain in your shelter and use
your cocoon.
But remember:
You can help no-one else, No-one else, No-one else......

Power Armour / Armour for Everyday

© Michael Moorcock

Your armour is valuable
If you give yourselves up it will destroy you
Your armour is very strong
Once you put it on it is almost impossible to remove
Wear it carefully
It will protect you against all enemies, including yourself.

Your armour should be kept in perfect condition
Any weakness should be reported immediately
Your armour will protect you from all conceivable danger
Especially from within
It will enable you to resist all temptation
And all change.

Your Armour and gleams so well
Enabling you to move through hell
And keep your enemies at bay
Through darkest night and brightest day
And if you keep it carefully
You will burn in it
And die in it
And never know you didn't have to wear it.

My Armour's killing me
My armour holds me tight
My armour blocks the light
My armour's all I want
'Cause I'm too scared to shed it.

My armour's killing me
Please don't ever tear it
I need to bad to wear it.

My armour's killing me.

Black Corridor

Space is infinite, it is dark
Space is neutral, it is cold
Stars occupy minute areas of space
They are clustered a few billion here
And a few billion there
As if seeking consolation in numbers
Space does not care, space does not threaten
Space does not comfort

It does not sleep, it does not wake
It does not dream
It does not hope, it does not fear
It does not love, it does not hate
It does not encourage any of these qualities
Space cannot be measured, it cannot be
angered, it cannot be placated
It cannot be summed up, space is there
Space is not large and it is not small
It does not live and it does not die
It does not offer truth and neither does it lie
Space is a remorseless, senseless, impersonal fact
Space is the absence of time and of matter
